We left Warrnambool to head towards Wongarra, but of course we made sure to stop off at the Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge on the way. Not the sunniest of days but beautiful anyway and dad managed to get a few bird spots in, so all happy.
Our over night stop was to be at a B&B called Room With A View, near Wongarra. After squeezing our car up some rather narrow and windy roads we made it to the BnB which was high up on a hill, with gorgeous views out to the Ocean and we made it just in time for a gorgeous sunset.
We were introduced to the local male Bowerbird and his incredible nest. For those who may not know, male Bowerbirds make a rather impressive nest with an archway structure in the middle. They then collect objects of a particular colour, this guys chosen colour was blue, which he then displays around the nest to attract himself a lady friend.
The B&B was great and we were made to feel right at home. The flat had a huge balcony, perfect for a morning coffee along with their homemade croissants which were to die for! Also a chance to see some gorgeous birds.
