Amongst all our road trips and adventures into National Parks, we had a few city days staying in Melbourne, hitting a few of the tourist spots.
Although, it did all felt rather bizarre being surrounded by christmas decorations, in sweltering 40 degree heat, not the christmas weather I am normally accustomed to 🙂
We ploughed on though and ticked a lot of things off our Melbourne todo list. We saw Cats at the theatre, which I’d been trying to see since it came back to the stage and it was amazing. We made sure to visit the Queen Victoria Markets and wandered along the main shopping streets, with one crucial stop being the flinders street Hat shop to get dad his presents an Akubra, which he was pretty chuffed with 🙂
Melbourne is such a great city to just get lost in, with the free tram system in the central areas, loads of culture and it has plenty of quirky little lanes to wonder up and down, full of boutiques, coffee shops and art, some lovely parks and lots of amazing free galleries and museums. Everything is just very accessible!

Boardwalks along the Yarra River
One of the best Pizza’s I have ever had at A25 Pizzeria in South Yarra. Squid Ink base… yummy!
